What Goes in a Dumpster Rental in Toronto

If you’re looking for a dumpster rental in Toronto for your construction site or project, Ontario Trucking & Disposal can take away most of the materials you’re throwing out. When it comes to waste, we often sort out what is put in the dumpster and determine if it can be recycled. However, certain materials have restrictions on them, meaning that they either have to be separated from the rest of the materials, or cannot be placed in the bins at all. Read here what kinds of materials are allowed in our dumpster rentals and what kind of materials have to be taken elsewhere.

What Can Be Put in a Dumpster Rental in Etobicoke
Of the items that are put in our dumpsters, the following are among the most common that are allowed to be put in our waste bins:

  • Concrete
  • Wood
  • Fill
  • Asphalt
  • Brick rubble
  • Snow
  • Drywall
  • Plaster
  • Insulation

Most of these items can be disposed of by simply putting them in the dumpster. However, if you think that your bin will consist mostly of concrete, wood, fill, asphalt or brick rubble, it is to your advantage to put only those materials in the dumpster rental in Etobicoke. We offer special flat-rate pricing for bins with these materials. And while you can combine these items with other acceptable garbage, we will have to sort the materials in the bin, which takes us time and will incur a higher bill versus a sorted bin.

After the Dumpster is Picked Up
Once your waste bin is full or your project is complete, we’ll come pick it up and take it back to our facility as part of the final step in the bin rental procedure. From there, the dumpster is weighed and a charge is assessed based on that weight per tonne. As mentioned, certain construction site materials that are not mixed together are charged at a different rate than mixed garbage items. Once that’s complete, the materials in the waste bin will be sorted and anything that can be recycled will be taken out, in order to help the environment.

Items That Cannot Go in Our Bins
There are a number of things that we cannot place in our dumpsters because they pose a threat to the environment if disposed of with normal garbage. These excluded items include:

  • Combustible or flammable liquids
  • Propane tanks
  • Paint
  • Paint thinner
  • Solvents
  • Lighting ballasts
  • Fluorescent lightbulbs
  • Organic material
  • Items explicitly listed as hazardous

Ontario Trucking & Disposal is not licensed to handle organic or hazardous waste, and therefore, cannot accept any. If prohibited items are found in a dumpster, they will be removed and a fine will be issued to the renter.
